Description
Bis is the epitome of Bellebonne. Non Vintage wine gives me the opportunity as winemaker to showcase a 'house style and here it undoubtedly is! It is predominantly Pinot noir and is all about absolute floral and fruit gorgeousness: showcasing all that is beautiful and good about Tasmania. The aromas are a melody of strawberry, Turkish delight and rose petals. Pinot noir is the hero in this wine, and the palate is elegant and long with textures of fresh cream, brioche and delicate fruit.

A sparkling rosé of 68/30/2% pinot noir/chardonnay/pinot meunier; 8.25g/L dosage. Pretty salmon pink with fine, energetic bubbles and notes of red fruits, strawberry and grapefruit with hints of soft spice, almond blossom, red berry pastries and strawberry cream. Beautifully balanced, crisp and fruit forward with a harmonious flow and impressive tension and detail, acidity briney and fine, finishing with a swell of red fruits and minerals.

70% pinot noir, and a tiny amount of meunier, the balance chardonnay; mainly Bluestone vineyard, Piper’s River and some West Tamar; 30% barrel fermented (pinot and chardonnay); 2022 base vintage; 5-6% reserves from 2019, 2020 and 2021 in two tanks; colour from pinot noir dosage liqueur; disgorged September 2023; 8.25g/L dosage; 1150 dozen (and 2023 will be 2200 dozen plus 500 dozen Bis Blanc). Baby Bellebonne has never been on finer form, embracing the mood of Piper’s River pinot noir with fragrance and supple texture. The inimitable touch of Natalie Fryar builds wonderfully soft texture for intricately handled barrel fermentation. The result is a gorgeous rosé of class and sophistication.
